  • Jane Addams Recreation Trail

    This multi-use 15-mile recreational trail offers beautiful scenery and is highlighted by 21 decked bridges passing over and through wetlands, creeks, woods, prairies, geologic formations and farmland. The trail, named after Jane Addams, is part of the Grand Illinois Trail that traverses Northern Illinois from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River. Its crushed limestone path may be used by hikers, bicycles, snowmobiles, and cross-country skiers. Access to the trail is available at the Wes Block Trail Access on Fairview Road, off of Highway 20 two miles west of the Highway 26 intersection, or at the Richland Creek Trailhead in Orangeville, on High Street, east of Highway 26.

    A remnant of the past, this 1800's village was built inside a former rock quarry overlooking the Mississippi River. Heritage Canyon is a 12-acre wooded nature walk dotted with buildings that take the visitor back to pioneer living. Stroll through the park following the brick paved paths and yellow arrows. The canyon features a log cabin settlement, one-room school house, blacksmith shop, church, general store, and much more. The swinging bridge, a favorite among children, is made of steel-woven cables once used in quarry operations. All of the buildings house artifacts from times past.

    Fulton's newest attraction, the Windmill Cultural Center (WCC), houses an extensive collection of 21 European windmills that vary in size between three and six feet tall and represent ten European countries.
