Emerson Creek Pottery

Off the beaten path, Emerson Creek Pottery is located in a 100-year-old farm house that backs up to 50 acres of prairie grasses and wildflowers. Here you will find unique gifts and housewares. The hand painted pottery is all American made in Virginia, lead free and dishwasher safe. you'll also find a Tea Room featuring sandwiches, salads, fresh breads and scrumptious desserts. The pottery shop and Tea Room are open mid-May through December.

The Farnsworth House Estate

An internationally respected icon of modern architecture owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and operated by Landmarks Illinois as a museum. Master architect Ludwig  Mies van der Rohe created the ultimate minimalist masterpiece, the Farnsworth House. The floor-to-ceiling glass seemingly "floats" above the rambling Fox River and is the benchmark from which all glass houses were designed. Open April through November. Avanced reservations advised.
